2025 Property Taxes are Available to View and Pay Online
If it is near the day of the property tax deadline, you may want to take the envelope inside the Post Office to ensure it receives a cancellation mark before the delinquency date, particularly since the USPS has recently changed when mail will normally be presented to the processing center for postmark. Because January 31, which is the customary last day to pay falls on a Saturday this year, the cancellation mark must be February 2nd or earlier.

Vehicle Safety Inspection Changes Beginning January 1, 2025 for Vehicles Registered in Emissions Counties
While vehicle safety inspections are eliminated for non-commercial vehicles as of January 1, 2025, Johnson County is one of 17 emissions counties where state law will still require a vehicle emissions inspection prior to registration renewal for most vehicles.
In general, emissions inspections are required for gasoline powered vehicles 2-24 years old. Diesel powered vehicles and motorcycles are exempt from the emissions inspection requirement.
